Becoming by Michelle Obama

Autobiography • Inspiring • Eye Opening

ABOUT THE BOOK

Michelle Obama’s autobiography, Becoming, is written in a tone that is both wise and frank. Beginning with growing up on the South Side of Chicago and continuing all the way through her time as FLOTUS, she shares her struggles, triumphs, and lessons learned.

MY THOUGHTS

I loved reading Michelle’s experience from her point of view. I appreciated her candor with motherhood and marriage, the pressures of living in the public eye, and how race and being a woman impacts life. She shows how to live with grace and to always strive for better—for yourself, those around you, and everyone in the world.

This is a must read.

WHO THIS BOOK IS FOR

Everyone. Especially women.

For me, becoming isn’t about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn’t end.
