HOW TO CREATE YOUR GARDEN BY ADAM FROST

GARDEN DESIGN • HOW-TO GUIDES • INFORMATIVE

This book offers guidance on how to design, build, and maintain your garden.

The design portion is about how to ideate, plan, and draw your space. It also offers guidance on some plant selection (though not a comprehensive guide). I liked the parts where the author walks you through his design process, which teaches you how to think through your own.

The building portion offers well-written instructions and photos for some projects, including building a raised bed, steps, and also how to plant trees, shrubs, perennials, and bulbs.

This is a good resource for beginners and even gardeners with some experience looking to either complexly redesign a space or update a portion of it. I personally found it very useful for considering how to layer in plants and consider scale.
